B2M proudly presents our exclusive interview with Marc Lacy.
Welcome to Books2Mention Magazine. Congratulations on the success of your books and CD's.
B2M: Please tell our readers about your new book Wretched Saints.
MARC: Wretched Saints is a compelling and action-packed book of fiction short stories in which "so-called" people of God are acting in an ungodly way causing chaos and mayhem in their own lives and within the lives of others. The book also illustrates how God gives each character an opportunity for redemption and points them in the right direction. Now whether they see what HE is doing has yet to be determined. It is a guarantee that each reader will be able to place themselves in the shoes of the characters.
B2M: What is the motivation behind your thought provoking creations?
MARC: I can feel and listen to the world and how it constantly screams in an effort to be heard. My writing passionately represents the peoples' voices.
B2M: Your creative genius is expressed in your poetry, story telling and through spoken word. Which of the three do you enjoy doing the most?
MARC: I actually love them all; because at the end of the day, my desire is to be known as a "writer" first. But I am really comfortable and in my element when it comes to spoken word.
B2M: How has the art of writing enriched your life?
MARC: Writing has enriched my life from the standpoint that I've been able to touch numerous souls with my pen.
B2M: Is there a particular author that you most admire, that has influenced your writing style?
MARC: I would say that there are many authors over the years who have really caught my attention; but among my favorites are Alex Haley, Paul Lawrence Dunbar, Edgar Allen Poe, and Nikki Giovanni.
B2M: What is the title of the last book you read?
MARC: Who is he to you by Monique Mensah.
B2M: What wise words would you like to offer to aspiring writers?
MARC: Do not plan on becoming a rockstar as a writer. Aspire to improve your writing skills every time the pen hits the pad.
B2M: Outside of writing, what are your other interests?
MARC: I like speaking, lecturing, project management, documentaries, blogging, working out, and djying.
B2M: Five years from now, what do you hope readers will be saying about your artistry?
MARC: I hope and pray that people will appreciate the fact that I tried my best to make a positive difference with the gifts God gave me.
B2M: What can readers expect from you next?
MARC: Along with continuous touring/performances, I am currently working on a mini EP spoken word cd along with a full spoken word album; both due at the end of the summer. There may be a sequel to Wretched Saints in the burner. As soon as I can get the plan finalized, I will begin work on a non-fiction relationship communication book/guide as well.
Marc we encourage you to continue writing thought provoking creations that motivate and inspire readers. We look forward to hearing more from you.
Thanks for interviewing with Books2Mention Magazine. Please be sure to come back again and keep readers informed about all of your future endeavors.
Much Success To You!
